Driver could not find the address

Once again as if Wien Döbling was the nasty end of Hong Kong
As far as I see, it's a well-known problem: GLS didn't even attempt to deliver the parcel I ordered from England. It was sent on 14th February and early March I was suspicious. I did some digging and found out that the tracking number belonged to GLS even though the seller sent it by Royal Mail.
Anyways, I contacted the help desk where I was told that I should go and pick the parcel up because I was not at home. The problem is: I work from home and no note or slip was left. None. Nothing.
Nevertheless, I asked for another delivery. I was told that it was not possible to deliver again. So I called the customer service. After a while, they found a guy who spoke English. It was this Tuesday, mind you. So, he told me that the parcel was left at that pick-up station. I told him the whole procedure was unacceptable, so he asked for my address, phone number, and promised that they would deliver the parcel yesterday (Wednesday).
Naturally, nobody came, no GLS, no driver, nobody. So, I decided to give in. I wrote another E-Mail to the help desk inquiring whether my parcel was still at the pickup station. Well. It wasn't. It isn't. I was informed that after one (1) unsuccessful delivery attempt on February 19 they left the parcel at the pickup station and after 9 days they sent it back to the sender.
I did some math: if it is true, they sent it back to England on February 28 or the March 1 - so somebody is not telling the truth because in this case the parcel simply couldn't have been in Vienna this Monday.
I don't have my parcel, the sender doesn't have the parcel - and I lost 22,00 Euro because the truly poor "service" of yet another courier service. (I have the whole correspondence except for the phone call I made with the guy whose name I didn't get because he didn't give it.)
